Rick delivered a scientific presentation titled:
“Pixels to Phenotypes: An RGB Pipeline for Scalable Trait Extraction, Per-Leaf Tracking, and Cross-Species Analysis.”
His talk highlighted the development of a scalable imaging and analysis pipeline designed to extract plant traits from RGB data, track individual leaves over time, and enable comparative analyses across species. The approach provides an accessible, high-throughput solution for researchers working in plant phenotyping, crop improvement, and computational biology.
The presentation generated strong interest from attendees, sparking constructive discussions on digital phenotyping, automation, and opportunities for collaboration.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Mat Lewsey and Eddie Custovic for their support in enabling Rick’s participation in the conference. Their commitment to fostering research development and early-career researchers is greatly appreciated.
Rick’s participation reflects our team’s ongoing dedication to advancing plant science through computational innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and impactful research.
The Australian Society of Plant Scientists was founded on 19 August 1958 during an inaugural meeting at the University of Adelaide, at a time when physiological aspects of plant biology were beginning to grow rapidly within Australia.
