PC Hub is delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Monika Doblin as the new Director of the Protected Cropping Hub (PC Hub), marking an exciting new chapter for the organisation and Australia’s protected cropping sector.

Prof. Doblin succeeds Professor Emeritus Tony Bacic, who has retired from his role as the Inaugural Director of PC Hub after many years of exceptional leadership and service. Under Tony’s guidance, PC Hub established itself as a leading collaborative research initiative, driving innovation and supporting the advancement of protected cropping across Australia.

We sincerely thank Tony for his vision, dedication, and significant contribution to the growth of the Hub and the broader protected cropping industry. His leadership has laid a strong foundation for future success and impact.

Prof. Doblin brings extensive experience in applied research, industry engagement, and collaborative innovation. She previously served as Research Director for both PC Hub and MedAg Hub, where she played a key role in strengthening partnerships between researchers, growers, and industry stakeholders.

As Director, Monika will continue to champion research excellence and industry collaboration to address the evolving challenges and opportunities within protected cropping.

“PC Hub is committed to advancing excellence in applied research that delivers meaningful outcomes for Australian growers and supports the continued growth and innovation of the protected cropping industry,” said Prof. Monika Doblin.

PC Hub looks forward to continuing its mission under Monika’s leadership and building on the strong momentum established over recent years. Together with industry partners, researchers, and growers, the Hub remains committed to delivering impactful research outcomes that support a sustainable, innovative, and globally competitive protected cropping sector.

We warmly welcome Prof. Monika Doblin as Director and look forward to the exciting opportunities ahead.
