Platforms & Infrastructure

The PC Hub operates within a network of excellence, world-class facilities, and cutting-edge capabilities.

Infrastructure

Our advanced technology platforms and research infrastructure are designed to support innovation across protected cropping systems. We provide researchers, partners, and students with access to cutting-edge facilities, tools, and expertise to drive meaningful outcomes.

AgriBio Facility

LISAF and PC Hub are located within Agribio, a world-class facility that provides researchers with purpose-built facilities to support their work.

The technology platforms include:

  • Extensive plant growth facilities, including Controlled Environment Rooms
  • Plant phenotyping with hyperspectral and other imaging
  • Multi-omics technologies (proteomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, lipidomics, genomics).
  • Single-cell analysis
  • Bioinformatics and complex statistical analysis
  • Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectrometer

La Trobe Institute for Sustainable Agriculture and Food (LISAF)

The Protected Cropping (PC) Hub operates within the La Trobe Institute for Sustainable Agriculture and Food (LISAF).

Through its infrastructure and capabilities, LISAF offers a state-of-the-art environment for researchers, students, and industry partners to transform the future of agriculture.

Technology Platforms

APPN Node

The APPN Node at La Trobe University in Melbourne offers access to a range of precision-controlled growth environments and sophisticated phenotyping technologies.

The extensive facilities provide academic researchers and commercial organisations with the capacity to rapidly, accurately and objectively assess plant performance using non-destructive digital technologies.
