Dr Lynne McIntyre
Chair
Dr Lynne McIntyre is passionate about Australian agriculture, scientific excellence, and research and development that makes a real difference. She completed her PhD in molecular genetics at the Australian National University (ANU) and CSIRO, focusing on the emerging field of DNA markers for more efficient plant breeding.
Now retired from CSIRO, Lynne continues to contribute to a more profitable and sustainable Australian agriculture sector, drawing on more than 30 years of experience and expertise in strategy, impact, science, and people leadership.
Dr Amanda Caples
Amanda is Victoria’s Lead Scientist, a role that aligns and connects Victoria’s science, technology and innovation capability with business needs and with government’s economic development activities. She is Chair of mRNA Victoria’s Scientific Advisory Group; Chair of the Victorian Quantum Technology Network; and a non-executive Director of Agriculture Victoria Services Pty Ltd.
Peter Crock
Peter Crock is a Director of Medicinal Cannabis Industry Australia (MCIA), the peak body representing Australia’s licensed medicinal cannabis industry. He is the former CEO of Cann Group.
Dr. Harjeet Khanna
Dr. Harjeet Khanna is a highly experienced agricultural scientist with over 37 years of leadership in agricultural research, innovation, and strategic governance. She currently serves as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of AgriFutures Australia, providing strategic governance and oversight for national R&D investments across established and emerging rural industries.
Rosemary Richards
Rosemary is the principal of Bowman Richards & Associates (BR+A), a consulting firm specialising in providing strategic support to the agribusiness, food and technology sectors.
She is Chair of the Australian Oilseeds Federation, Chair of Sustainable Grain Australia, and a director of Sugar Research Australia.
Victoria Taylor
Victoria Taylor brings over 25 years of governance and leadership experience across Australian agriculture and food innovation. She is Chair of the Agrifood Innovation Institute at the Australian National University, and a Non-Executive Director of Horticulture Innovation Australia and WaterNSW.
Executive Management Committee (EMC)
The EMC is responsible for the Hub’s day-to-day operations and research direction, ensuring the Hub’s activities are scientifically rigorous and aligned with its mission.

Lead Organisation
Led by La Trobe University, the Protected Cropping (PC) Hub operates within the La Trobe Institute for Sustainable Agriculture and Food (LISAF).
LISAF is dedicated to advancing sustainable agricultural practices to ensure the production of high-quality, nutritious food and plant-based medicines.
By fostering innovation across the entire agri-food-health value chain, from “paddock to gut”, LISAF aims to address global food security challenges and enhance the resilience of Australia’s agricultural systems.
